Poison a knowledge base

Add one forum post to a help bot's knowledge base and see which questions it reaches, then turn on defenses and see what each one catches and misses.

Your post on the community forum

The help bot indexes the forum along with the handbook, because customers post useful tips there. Anyone can post.

Loading the model's recorded outputs for the knowledge base, the five crafted posts, and the seven questions.

About the download

Embed the knowledge base, the posts, and the questions to rank what reaches the prompt. This uses all-MiniLM-L6-v2, a small sentence-embedding model that maps text to 384 numbers.

The first time, your browser downloads about 24 MB of model files from Hugging Face, plus a 14 MB runtime from this site. Both are cached for later visits. Everything runs on your device; nothing you type is sent anywhere.

Challenges

0 of 4 complete

  1. Get a crafted post ranked above the handbook's own answer for the question it was written for. (not yet)
  2. Add the keyword-stuffed post, then raise the similarity floor until it reaches no prompt at all. Which honest answers did you lose? (not yet)
  3. As a customer, find a question that pulls staff-only text into the prompt. Then keep it out without changing the question. (not yet)
  4. With any crafted post added, keep it out of every prompt with one switch. Then ask the question that switch hurts. (not yet)

Try this

  • With Copies the question added, compare its score with the handbook’s returns rule. Then pick Same claim, own words and see where it lands.
  • Ask the tune-up question as a customer and read the prompt: what else came along? Turn on Search only what the asker may read.
  • Add Keyword stuffing and raise the Similarity floor a step at a time, watching the table.
  • Add Forged source label and turn on Label each passage with its source. Read both labels in the prompt.
